Section 1 — Short title, commencement and ex tent

1. Short title, commencement and ex tent.

(1)This Act may be cited as the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

(2)It shall come into force on the first day of January, 1909.

Section 1 — This Act has been amended in its application to Assam by Assam Acts 2 of 1941 and 3 of 1953; to Tamil Nadu by Madras
