1. Short title, extent and commencement .
(1)This Act may be called the Reserve Bank of India
Act, 1934.
4[(2) It extends to the whole of India 5***.] (3)This section shall come into force at once, and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come
into force on such date or dates6 as the 7[Central Government] may, by notification in the Gazette of
India, appoint.
