1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Right to Fair
Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Reh abilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. (2)It extends to the whole of India 1***. (3)It shall come into force on such date2 as the Central Government may, by notification in the
Official Gazette, appoint:
Provided that the Central Government shall appoint such date within three months from the date
on which the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and
Resettlement Bill, 2013 receives the assent of the President.
